 We committed to women empowerment and raising burning issues relating to the women emancipation at various platforms. To commemorate International Women’s Day celebrated on 8th March, we organized a mega rally on 13th March, 2008 at Sampurna Kendra Maharana Pratap Community Center, Raja Pur, Delhi. This program was to create awareness amongst the poor women to know their rights under the Protection of Domestic Violence Act. 2005.

 The legend Smt. Hema Malini, Member of Rajya Sabha and Member of Standing Committee (Parliament ) on Women Empowerment were the Chief Guest. The other guests were Sh. K.K. Aggarwal, Vice Chancellor, Guru Gobind Singh Inderprastha University, Mr. Vijender Gupta, Chairman Standing Committee of MCD, Smt. Rashmi Singh, Joint Secretary, Department of Women and Child Development. A big exhibition depicting the problems of a girl from the womb to pyre were shown with possible solutions. The initiatives taken by Sampurna through the exhibition were appreciated by one and all. The 1,00,000 pamphlets containing the message of Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 in Hindi were distributed to every household. The hundred hoardings with the message say no to violence were installed in Delhi.
